English Bee is a non-profit project aiming to provide an opportunity for primary students to develop their English skills. We believe that nurturing a long term interest in reading, writing, and creative thinking in primary students is essential.

Why Join Us?
English Bee is a service club started by three Y11 students in February 2022. We aim to provide an opportunity for primary students — in and outside the VSA community — to develop their English skills. We believe that nurturing a long term interest in reading, writing, and creative thinking in primary students is essential. We are looking for aspiring volunteers and teachers that are committed for the long term, confident speakers, and friendly with younger students.

More now than ever, it has been increasingly difficult to maintain engagement through Online learning. Aside from academics, English Bee emphasizes developing the interpersonal and social skills of our students through various interactive activities and group discussions.
優質教育的重要性比以往任何時候都要高。除了學術之外，English Bee還強調通過各種互動活動和小組討論來發展學生的人際交往和溝通技巧。

English Bee strives to provide students from all backgrounds equal access to learning resources, as well as bringing students of different backgrounds together, offering them a chance to make lifelong friends, develop global mindedness, and consider novel perspectives.

Catered towards Y1-3 students, secondary student volunteers will be reading a short story, back and forth with a primary student. We believe that this activity will greatly benefit both the volunteer and the students by enhancing their fluency, confidence and their interpersonal skills.
為迎合 Y1-3 學生，中學生志願者將與小學生閱讀短篇小說。 我們相信，這項活動能提高志願者和學生的流利程度、自信心和人際交往能力，從而使他們受益匪淺。
Catered towards Y1-5 students, a variety of creative writing skills such as show-not-tell and foreshadowing will be taught by our secondary student volunteers. Global issues are simultaneously explored with creative writing skills, cultivating curiosity about the world.

VSA MYP Taster Lessons 六年級模擬英文課 (Y5)

Catered towards Y5 students, they are introduced to the MYP Y1 English curriculum by being engaged in activities that replicate the content of MYP Y1 such as fictional, informative, journalistic and scriptwriting for different mediums of literature. The aim of this is to prepare them for a smooth transition from PYP to MYP.
